Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Unplug does and does not collect, how we use it, and when it may be shared with our service providers.
1. Data We Collect
Unplug collects limited app, device, attribution, and subscription information to operate the app, measure performance, and understand how people find and use Unplug. This information may include:
- App usage and interaction events.
- Basic device and app information, such as device type, operating system version, app version, and language.
- Diagnostic and performance information.
- Permission states, such as whether notifications or location access are enabled.
- Attribution and link data, such as campaign, referrer, or deep-link information when you open a Unplug or creator link.
Unplug uses PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics and Dub for creator and campaign link attribution.
Unplug does not use Apple’s IDFA for advertising tracking.
When you use our website’s support form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. Event submissions contain the event link and any optional comments you provide. Cloudflare Turnstile processes browser and network information to protect these forms from spam.
2. How We Use This Data
We use this information to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve Unplug.
- Respond to support requests and review submitted events.
- Understand feature usage and app performance.
- Diagnose bugs, crashes, and reliability issues.
- Measure installs, creator or campaign attribution, and deep-link performance.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate Unplug, including:
- PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics.
- Dub for creator and campaign link attribution.
- Cloudflare for website hosting, spam protection, and delivery of form submissions by email.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Unplug, our users, or others.
4. User Consent & Permissions
We follow Apple’s iOS permission framework. Where required, you grant or deny access through Apple’s system prompts, such as notifications, or location.
Unplug does not request App Tracking Transparency permission to access IDFA because Unplug does not use IDFA for advertising tracking.
If you open a Unplug link, creator link, or ad campaign link, Unplug and its attribution providers may process link and campaign information to route the link and measure performance.
5. User Rights & Control
You can control many app permissions directly in iOS Settings, including contacts, notifications, and location.
You can manage subscriptions through your Apple App Store account settings.
If you have questions about analytics, attribution, or privacy requests, including deletion requests where applicable, please contact us.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by Unplug and our service providers, including encrypted data transmission and access controls appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.
7. Data Retention
We and our service providers retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, analyze performance, measure subscriptions and attribution, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
User content stored in the app remains under your control through your device and iCloud account.
8. International Data Transfers
Unplug and its service providers may process information on servers located outside your country of residence. When this occurs, we rely on appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on our website or within the app and update the “Last Updated” date above.
